The Hindu IT Cell filed a complaint with the Mumbai police, asserting that the movie misrepresented Valmiki's Ramayana and criticized Lord Ram. The storyline revolves around a girl aspiring to be a chef, facing challenges due to her status as the daughter of a Hindu temple pujari. A contentious scene depicts her performing the Islamic prayer Namaz, wearing a scarf, before a cooking competition. Nayanthara's character recalls a friend from college who praised her Briyani, claiming it tasted exceptional when she performed Namaz before cooking. This particular scene has ignited controversy, as it is deemed offensive to religious sentiments.
