Unruly special needs passenger on an IndiGo flight locks himself in the toilet and is detained

On a Saturday, a 27-year-old disabled man was held for reportedly acting erratically and "misbehaving" on an IndiGo aircraft from Ahmedabad to Patna. The event happened during flight 6E 126 of IndiGo.

The individual, identified as Mohammed Kamar Riyaz, sequestered himself in the airplane's lavatory.

After the plane landed, he was delivered to the police.

"A complaint has been filed against the man by the airlines for creating a commotion, and unruly and inappropriate behaviour on the flight," said Vinod Peter, SHO (Patna Airport), according to news agency PTI.

According to the SHO, early research, a review of his medical records, and his brother's statement—who was also travelling with him—all pointed to a mental disorder.

Riyaz works as a mechanical engineer. His older brother lives in Ahmedabad, although he is a citizen of West Champaran in Bihar. He and his brother took a trip from Ahmedabad to Patna for treatment.

At this time, Riyaz is receiving care for his condition at a private hospital in this city.

Police will keep tabs on his actions, the SHO added.
