According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kangana Ranaut and Raghava Lawrence's horror-comedy Chandramukhi 2 stayed stable at the box office on day six of its release. P Vasu's film garnered approximately Rs 2 crore on Tuesday, bringing its total profits to Rs 31 crore. The film had a 13.10 percent occupancy in the Tamil-speaking market, but a considerable fall in Hyderabad's Telugu-speaking sector.
While the Kangana Ranaut-starrer is doing well in southern India, it has received little attention in western and northern India and is up against two other films that came out the same week: Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's The Vaccine War and Varun Sharma and Richa Chadha's Fukrey 3.
However, Chandramukhi 2's box office performance outperforms Kangana's previous films, Dhaakad (2022), Thalaivii (2021), Panga (2020), and Judgementall Hai Kya (2019). The actor is currently rehearsing for her next film, Tejas, directed by Sarvesh Mewara. Tejas is the account of an Indian Air Force pilot named Tejas Gill.
Chandramukhi 2 is the sequel of P Vasu's Chandramukhi (2005), which starred Rajinikanth and Jyothika. The movie was an approved remake of the Kannada film Apthamitra (2004), which was itself a remake of the Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu (1993). Lyca Productions and Subaskaran are the producers of Chandramukhi 2. Lyka Productions has produced blockbusters including Rajinikanth and Shankar's 2.0, Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise, RRR, and Ponniyin Selvan.
