PM Modi's Big Attack In Poll-Bound Rajasthan: 'Congress Is Only Interested In 'Kursi Ka Khel'

JODHPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in poll-bound Rajasthan on Thursday, citing the state's deteriorating law and order, recent rioting, and a paper leak scandal. PM Modi voiced concern at a public rally in Jodhpur that the deteriorating law and order situation was impeding investment and harming businesses. He accused the Congress government of prioritizing its ''vote bank'' over Rajasthan's wellbeing, citing its response to the recent riots in Jodhpur as an example. PM Modi questioned the Congress' commitment to appeasement and safety for all, citing a Congress MLA's own safety worries.

PM Modi slammed the Congress government's lack of action over five years, calling to it as 'Kursi Ka Khel' (the game for the chair) and emphasizing that the Congress seemed purely interested on political power. He called attention to alleged corruption detailed in the 'Lal Diary' and urged transparency and responsibility. PM Modi also addressed the paper leak scandal, promising harsh punishment for those implicated.

Against a backdrop of cries of 'Modi, Modi,' the Prime Minister assured the crowd of the BJP government's efforts to develop Rajasthan and highlighted a number of development projects totaling around Rs 5,000 crore. Under the Congress government, he decried the growth in corruption, riots, and atrocities against women and Dalits.

PM Modi also dedicated and launched various development projects, including new train services and crucial healthcare infrastructure. He also inaugurated two new train services in Rajasthan: the Runicha Express, which connects Jaisalmer and Delhi, and a historic train that connects Marwar Junction and Khambli Ghat.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister dedicated two critical rail projects to the nation: the 145-kilometer-long 'Degana-Rai Ka Bagh' rail line and the 58-kilometer-long 'Degana-Kuchaman City' rail line.

The Prime Minister today announced a 350-bed Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur, as well as seven Critical Care Blocks to be developed across Rajasthan under the Pradhan Mantri - Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).

In addition, he laid the groundwork for the construction of the state-of-the-art New Terminal Building at Jodhpur Airport, which would cost Rs 480 crore. He also dedicated to the nation the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur campus, a state-of-the-art facility built at a cost of more than Rs 1,135 crore.

The Prime Minister donated a 'central instrumentation laboratory,' staff quarters, and a 'yoga & sports sciences building' to efforts to modernize the infrastructure at the Central University of Rajasthan. At the Central University of Rajasthan, he established the groundwork for the Central Library, a 600-person Hostel, and a dining facility.

The Prime Minister also lay the groundwork for a number of road development projects totaling approximately Rs 1,475 crore. The Jodhpur Ring Road is expected to reduce traffic congestion and vehicular pollution in the city.

As Rajasthan prepares for elections at the end of the year, the Bharatiya Janata Party is attempting to challenge and maybe overthrow the Congress government.
