IND against AUS, ICC World Cup 2023: David Warner Breaks Tendulkar's Record, Becoming the Fastest To 1000 ODI World Cup Runs

David Warner of Australia became the quickest player in ODI World Cup history to reach 1000 runs. Warner broke Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers' record of 20 innings in 19 innings while playing against India on Sunday.

Warner, known for his aggressive hitting style, has constantly delivered exceptional performances, making him one of cricket's most famous players.

However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is closing in on the Australian and needs only 22 runs to complete the task. He has 978 runs in 17 ODI innings and will start the batting for India in the second inning, looking to break Warner's record.

Ravindra Jadeja weaved a wicked web of left-arm spin expertise while scooping up 3-28 to help India bowl out Australia for 199 in 49.3 overs.

Choosing to bat first on a pitch that appeared dry and a little bit on the slower side, Australia were 110-2 in 27 overs until Jadeja came in to wreck havoc, taking three wickets in two overs to break the visitors' innings.

Kuldeep Yadav grabbed two wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin had one as spinners claimed six wickets in their 30 overs combined at an economy rate of 3.47 and precipitated an Australian collapse, with all three pacers also taking wickets.

Steven Smith and David Warner made 46 and 41 respectively for Australia, who played 173 dot balls in their innings. There were no notable hits from the rest of the batters until Mitchell Starc came in late and blasted two fours and a six. India now needs 200 runs to kickstart their campaign.
