Tokyo: A 6.6-magnitude earthquake has hit Japan. A tsunami warning for its nearby islands had been issued after the earthquake, however it has already been revoked.
The Japan Times reports that after the 6.6-magnitude earthquake, tsunami waves up to 30 centimeters were seen on one of the Izu islands.
Local reports state that the earthquake, which occurred at 11 AM local time, occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers close to Torishima in the Izu chain. The Meteorological Agency had issued a tsunami warning for the area, but it has already been removed because there was no damage seen.
