The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opened a preliminary investigation into claims of anomalies in the renovation of Arvind Kejriwal's official residence in the nation's capital.
Sources claim that the agency asked the Public Works Department (PWD) for documents relating to the project's approval.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has allegedly utilised all of its resources to destroy the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), according to the AAP, which has denied any allegations of misconduct.
"Up to this point, they have brought more than 50 lawsuits against Kejriwal and ordered a probe. However, they turned up nothing. This will also result in nothing. Arvind Kejriwal will continue to fight for the interests of the ordinary man regardless of how much probe the BJP wants, according to the Kejriwal-led party.
The preliminary investigation is the initial step in determining if the claims have sufficient evidence to move forward with a normal FIR.
The PWD has been asked to provide records relating to the approval and recommendation of its officials regarding alterations, tender documents, contractor bids, approval of building plans and client requests for superior specifications like modular kitchens, marble flooring and other ornamental work, according to the CBI's anti-corruption branch.
Virendra Sachdeva, the leader of the BJP in Delhi, stated: "After this CBI investigation, Arvind Kejriwal would have to answer who gave the order for all these constructions (at the CM's residence)?"
Kapil Mishra, a senior in the Delhi BJP, claimed that Kejriwal had committed the sin of erecting an unauthorised "Sheeh Mahal" with tax payer money.The CBI has filed a complaint on Kejriwal's unlawful house. Kejriwal committed the sin of constructing an unauthorised "Sheeh Mahal" with Delhi residents' money during the Corona era. Kejriwal is going to be held accountable for this crime, Mishra wrote on X.
