Navratri 2023: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police ruled Saturday that restrictions under CrPC section 144 would be in place across Noida and Greater Noida from October 15 to 31, prohibiting unlawful meetings of more than five people and processions, among other things.
According to the order issued ahead of Navratri, no namaz, puja, or other religious practice will be permitted in public locations unless authorized by the police.
The directive specified that religious activities, like as puja and namaz, would not be permitted in any problematic location where they have traditionally not been performed, nor should anybody urge others to do so.
"No one would insult other faiths' religious texts." "No one would place religious flags, posters, or banners on the walls of religious buildings, and no one would support anyone who did," the directive stated.
The police stated that Navratri begins on October 15, Maharaja Agrasain Jayanti is on October 23, Dussehra is on October 24, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti is on October 28, and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Acharya Narendra Dev is on October 31.
Aside from that, various examinations are held on a regular basis by the government/various commissions/councils, etc. The police said that in Gautam Buddh Nagar, which is told a bit before the due date, various activities such as protests, demonstrations, and so on take place frequently.
"In light of the foregoing, the prospect of anti-social elements disturbing the peace cannot be ruled out... At the moment, peace could be disrupted by protests by various party workers, Indian farmer organizations, and demonstrators," said Additional DCP (law and order) Hridesh Katheria in the order for CrPC 144 restrictions.
"For all these reasons, in order to maintain peace and harmony in Gautam Buddh Nagar, it is necessary to prevent any mischievous elements from carrying out such activities which may create a possibility of creating an unfavourable environment," Katheria went on to say.
The order threatened offenders with legal punishment under IPC section 188 (disobedience to orders properly proclaimed by government officials).
