Nepal is hit by a 6.2-magnitude earthquake, and Delhi-NCR is feeling strong tremors

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck Nepal on Tuesday afternoon, and afterward there were strong tremors felt in Delhi-NCR and other regions of north India.



According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake's epicentre was located 700 km west of Kathmandu in the Talkot area of the Bajhang district around 2.40 p.m.

According to the Delhi Police, no injuries or property damage were reported to them in the nation's capital following the earthquake tremors.

North Indians reported feeling the shocks of the earthquake, and on social media, users shared terrifying images. As of yet, no casualties have been reported.

Delhi Police wrote on X in a social media post: "Hey Delhi citizens! We wish you all well. Do not panic, but do please exit your buildings and gather in a safe area. AVOID USING ELEVATORS! Dial 112 if you need emergency assistance.

The powerful vibrations brought up thoughts of the Nepal earthquake that had occurred in 2015 and claimed hundreds of lives there.

A light tremor hit certain areas of Haryana on Sunday. The National Centre for Seismology reports that a 2.6-magnitude earthquake struck on Sunday at 11:26 p.m.

The earthquake's epicentre was seven kilometres (km) east southeast of Rohtak in Haryana.
