"May we always work to realise his dreams," he continued. May his ideas help every child become the change agent they've always wanted to be, promoting peace and harmony worldwide.

PM honours Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat with flowers

On the occasion of the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi's birth, PM Modi paid floral homage to him on Monday at Rajghat in New Delhi. Around 8:00 am, Modi arrived at Rajghat and presented flower petals and knelt before the Mahatma's memorial. At Rajghat, Gandhi's favourite devotional songs were performed during an interfaith prayer service.

A podium made of black marble was erected at the Mahatma Gandhi memorial complex known as Rajghat to mark the location of his cremation on January 31, 1948.

Gandhi's eternal wisdom "continues to illuminate our path," according to Modi. Gandhi is remembered throughout the country as a liberation warrior who used his inner strength to defeat British tyranny and pave the way for nonviolence throughout the world.

The legendary liberation fighter and Indian stalwart Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2 as well. Early in the morning, PM Modi also paid respects to Shastri at the Vijay Ghat memorial.

On the occasion of Shastri's birth anniversary, he recalled Shastri with affection. He claimed that his humility, devotion to the nation, and famous "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" cry continue to inspire future generations.

"His leadership during trying times and unflinching dedication to India's advancement remain exemplary. May we continuously strive to actualize his dream of a powerful India," he added.
