Aspirational Blocks Programme, According to PM Modi, Is a Symbol of Team India's Success ('Sankalp Saptaah')

Sankalp Saptaah, a novel week-long project for the nation's aspirational neighbourhoods, was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. An official statement claims that "Sankalp Saptaah" is related to the successful implementation of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP).

The Aspirational Blocks Programme, according to Prime Minister Modi, heavily relies on Block Panchayats.

"The development of every block can only proceed quickly if every Gramme Panchayat works quickly. I thank and congratulate everyone involved in this effort," he stated.

The 'Sankalp Saptaah' programme, according to MP Modi, was just as important as the G20 summit.

"People who bring about changes at the grassroots level are now hosted at the Bharat Mandapam, where world leaders had congregated to debate global issues...The accomplishments of Team India are represented by this programme. This represents the collective effort's spirit. The future of India will benefit from this programme as well. There is a mirror of success through resolve in this, he remarked.

More than 25 crore people's lives have been changed in the country's 112 districts, he said, citing the Aspirational Districts Programme.

A change in living quality has occurred...The aspirational blocks plan will now be built on the success of the aspirational districts programme, according to the prime minister.

The administration, according to the prime minister, wants to see a developed India in 2047.

However, a developed nation does not imply that opulence should only be visible in Delhi, Mumbai, or Chennai while our villages are left in the dust. We do not adhere to that model. We want to alter the lives of 140 crore people and take control of their future, he remarked.

He added that the government's approach to the Aspirational District Programme was incredibly straightforward. "Fundamental change is not conceivable if we do not pursue all-encompassing, all-touching, and all-beneficial development. The numbers may give satisfaction in this regard. As a result, it's essential that we advance through implementing grassroots improvements," he continued.

Definition of the Aspirational Blocks Programme

PM Modi announced the nationwide initiative on January 7, 2023. The program's goal is to raise block-level governance standards in order to improve inhabitants' quality of life. It is currently being used in 500 aspirational blocks spread throughout 329 districts across the nation.

According to the statement, chintan shivirs were held nationwide at the village and block levels to implement the aspirational blocks programme and create a successful block development strategy.

These chintan shivirs come together in the "Sankalp Saptaah." All 500 aspirational blocks will observe "Sankalp Saptaah."

From October 3 through October 9, 2023, each day in "Sankalp Saptaah" will focus on a different development subject, on which all aspirational blocks will be built.

'Sampoorna Swasthya', 'Suposhit Pariwaar', 'Swachhta', 'Krishi', 'Shiksha', and 'Samridhi Diwas' are some of the themes for the first six days, according to the statement.

On Sunday, October 9, 2023, a celebration of the week's worth of work will be held under the banner of "Sankalp Saptaah - Samavesh Samaroh."

Around 3,000 panchayat and block-level people's delegates and functionaries from all around the country will attend the inaugural programme in Bharat Mandapam.

Additionally, the announcement added that roughly two lakh people—including farmers, functionaries at the block and panchayat levels, and people from different backgrounds—would participate in the programme digitally.
